Tikkun Olam

Joanne and Micah reunite in Charleston, SC, to bring a new work to life as part of the Spoleto Festival’s Tell Your Story project.

Tikkun Olam was created and performed by Micah and Joanne in collaboration with Joseph Rotstein, a long-time Charlestonian whose life began in a displaced persons camp in 1947, who so generously shared his story and perspective to be the foundation of this piece.

The Tell Your Story project is an annual creative engagement initiative that brings Spoleto artists together with the Charleston community to forge connections, document oral histories, preserve the sounds of rapidly changing landscapes, and create new works to be shared at the Festival.
