Joanne and Micah reunited in Charleston, SC, to bring a new work to life as part of the Spoleto Festival’s singular Tell Your Story project.

Tikkun Olam was conceived, created/arranged, and performed by Micah and Joanne in collaboration with Joseph Rotstein, a native Chicagoan but long-time Charlestonian whose family was forged in a refugee camp in 1947. Joseph generously shared his story and perspective with us, thus creating foundation of this piece.

The Tell Your Story project is an annual creative engagement initiative that brings Spoleto artists together with the Charleston community to forge connections, document oral histories, preserve the sounds of rapidly changing landscapes, and create new works to be shared at the Festival.
